Fantasy Injury Updates: A.J. Green, Sammy Watkins, more WRs among key Week 11 active/inactives
Week 11 Rankings:Quarterback | Running Back | Wide Receiver | Tight End | D/ST | KickerIs A.J. Green playing Week 11?UPDATE: Green is officially OUTGreen hasn’t practiced since injuring his toe injury late in Week 8, and it has been expected all along that he would miss multiple games and not return until December. But Marvin Lewis said early this week he hoped Green could play on Sunday against Baltimore, and the Bengals stopped short of officially listing him as “out”, instead opting for slightly less ominous (but not really) “doubtful”.It would be a mild shock if Green suits up, and even if he does, it’sunlikely he’s anything more than a part-time player/decoy. Because this is a key divisional matchup, it’s more likely Lewis is just trying to gain whatever edge he can by making the Ravens at least think about the possibility Green will play. As it stands, fantasy owners shouldn’t consider Green for their lineups, and instead expect Tyler Boyd and John Ross (assuming he plays) to see the bulk of the targets.WEEK 11 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight endIs Sammy Watkins playing Monday night?Watkins (foot) failed to practice this week, making it unlikely he’ll suit up against the Rams. Because this is a Monday night game, fantasy owners shouldn’t have Watkins in their lineups unless they have a backup from that game (Josh Reynolds? Chris Conley?). Even then, it’s a huge risk, as they can likely find a better option from the Sunday games. If Watkins does play and you have a spot open, he’s worth starting given the shootout potential of that game, but, again, you’re better served going with someone else.WEEK 11 DFS GPP LINEUPS: Yahoo | FanDuel | DraftKingsJohn Ross injury updateUPDATE: Ross is officially ACTIVEAfter getting in limited practice sessions throughout the week, it seems likely that the “questionable” Ross (groin) will play against the Ravens.Ross hasn’t done much during another injury-plagued season, but he did have six targets and a TD last week, and when these teams met in Week 2, then-WR2 Tyler Boyd had 91 yards and a score. Of course, Jimmy Smith didn’t play in that game, A.J. Green did, and it was in Cincinnati, but Ross’s big-play ability still gives him some upside as a FLEX. WEEK 11 DFS CASH LINEUPS: Yahoo | FanDuel | DraftKingsKeke Coutee injury newsUPDATE: Coutee is officially ACTIVECoutee (hamstring) looks like a true game-time decision against the Redskins after getting in limited practices this week. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported late Saturday that Coutee is expected to play.Because the rookie receiver figures to be less than 100 percent and is yet to play with Demaryius Thomas, it’s tough to know what to expect from him. It’s best to keep him on your bench until we see if he and Thomas can co-exist.MORE WEEK 11 DFS: Values | Stacks | Lineup Builder Fantasy football owners are getting off easy when it comes to checking for injury updates in Week 11. No key QBs, RBs, or TEs are “questionable”, and most of the big-name WRs who looked like worries early in the week (mainly Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs) will be active. Marvin Jones, Jordy Nelson, and Jamison Crowder have already been officially ruled “out”, and A.J. Green is “doubtful”, which means he’ll almost certainly be inactive. The only wide receivers who will be game-time decisions and giving you start ’em, sit ’em headaches are Sammy Watkins, who plays on Monday night, Keke Coutee, John Ross, and Chris Godwin. How will we ever survive?Of course, in a six-team bye week, every player counts, so we’ll continue updating this post throughout the day with the official news. Is Chris Godwin playing in Week 11?UPDATE: Godwin is officially ACTIVEGodwin (ankle) managed a full practice on Friday and seems almost certain to suit up against the Giants. He’s coming off his first 100-yard performance of the season, though he hasn’t scored since Week 6. In Tampa’s offense, you never know which receiver will have a good game, but Godwin has proven he has WR3 upside most weeks. This is a tough matchup on paper, but Godwin should be out there if you need him.
