THE revolution in modern media is beginning to rock the way politics is done in this country. In an attempt to rein in pork-barrel spending, a bipartisan coalition in Congress proposed creating a public database of who gets the pork and how much – thereby exposing the system to the light of day. But the bill had been put on “hold” by a single senator, and anonymously at that – until the blogosphere rose up in protest. Last week, a coalition of left- and right-wing bloggers encouraged readers to call their senators to find out who was responsible for the hold. Ultimately the effort exposed Sen.
