UK: Now undergoing trials at the Velim test track in the Czech Republic is a set of Mark 5A locomotive-hauled coaches destined for inter-city services across the north of England operated by TransPennine Express.Due to enter service later this year, the set is part of a 13-strong fleet of five-car push-pull trains. Built by CAF in Spain and financed by Beacon Rail, they will be hauled by Class 68 diesel locomotives also owned by Beacon Rail and leased by Direct Rail Services, which will sublease them to TransPennine Express. The trains will operate between Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, York, Scarborough and Middlesbrough. Maximum speed in commercial service will be 160 km/h, but the fleet has been designed to run at 200 km/h with electric traction in the future.TransPennine Express, owned by FirstGroup, has branded the new fleet as Nova 3. As part of a comprehensive fleet replacement programme, the operator has also ordered 12 five-car inter-city EMUs from CAF. To be known as Nova 2, they are being financed by Eversholt Rail and will operate from autumn 2019 on services from Manchester Airport and Liverpool to Glasgow and Edinburgh.TPE’s third fleet of new trains has been ordered from Hitachi Rail Europe with finance by Angel Trains. Intended for services linking Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and Edinburgh, the 19 electro-diesel AT300 multiple-units will be branded Nova 1. They are due to enter service in mid-2019.
That’s according to Bild, who say the Premier League champions made ‘official contact’ with Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic this week to discuss a transfer. The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield for several months, with him entering the final year of his deal and yet to sign a new contract at the Allianz Arena.Indeed, reports have indicated that the midfielder won’t be agreeing to a new deal and as such Bayern may need to sell this summer to ensure he does not leave on a free. That is where Liverpool have come from, looking to take advantage of the situation to secure a bargain deal to improve their midfield.Embed from Getty ImagesSo far there has been no official bid, but Bild say Liverpool took the first step this week, contacting the Bundesliga champions to discuss Thiago. They say that manager Jürgen Klopp is ‘enthusiastic’ about the midfielder and believes he is the ‘perfect man’ for his midfield as he is both ‘strong’ in duels but able to ‘serve’ the forwards in his team. The Reds already have an agreement in place with the player on a contract, although the details of that aren’t made clear. What is clear is that Thiago has told Bayern he will not sign the four-year deal they have offered and so is on a ‘farewell tour’ with the club in Lisbon for the final Champions League games. The biggest issue for the transfer is Bayern’s asking price. It’s stated that they want between €30-40m for the midfielder and are ‘not yet satisfied’ with €30m.That final phrase is a little confusing, though, as it doesn’t make clear whether Liverpool have offered that price or Bayern have stated they won’t accept such a price.Either way, it seems Liverpool are now stepping up their pursuit. Klopp wants the player, he’s keen on the move, so now they need to find an agreeable price with Bayern for him.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayDBSCould this pair of shorts be man’s best friend?DBSUndoHero Wars根本不可能获得这个宝藏！来证明我们错了Hero WarsUndoRelocation TargetDid You Know About These 7 Top Luxury Cruises in Singapore?Relocation TargetUndoPlumbing ServicesFast and around the clock Plumbing ServicesPlumbing ServicesUndoManuka FeedThis Is What Happens To Your Body If You Eat Grapes Every Day For 1 MonthManuka FeedUndoInvest With VICLocal Singaporean Mother Collects Rental Income Without Becoming LandlordInvest With VICUndoEveryday KoalaThese Twins Were Named “Most Beautiful In The World,” Wait Till You See Them TodayEveryday KoalaUndoNessa HearingPeople in Singapore Born Before 1965 Eligible for Free Hearing Aid TrialNessa HearingUndoWealthMastery.asiaThis Singaporean Couple is Disrupting A $3 Trillion IndustryWealthMastery.asiaUndo Liverpool are pushing ahead with their plans to sign Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich and have made contact with the German champions about a move.
