Epic Games announces Infinity Blade 2 at Apple event

first_imgOne of the best and most popular games on iOS, Infinity Blade, is getting a sequel. Mike Capps from Epic Games took the stage and announced that the sword-fighting game with breathtaking graphics will be followed up by a new title that has, well, more sword-fighting and even more breathtaking graphics. The game was announced in conjunction with the revelation of the A5 chip in the iPhone 4S. Of course Infinity Blade takes similar mechanics from the NES classic Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out. Having mostly static environments with a variety of reskinned enemies allows Epic to focus more on impressive visuals than other titles might be able to (much like Punch-Out did back in the 80’s).It will be available December 1, so it won’t quite be in time for the iOS 5/iPhone 4S launch, but it’s on its way about a year after the original.
