Mickey’s Fun Wheel – Swinging averaged 30 minutes, the highest average that we will likely see all summer. At Disneyland Park we saw Mickey’s House, Mr Toad’s Wild Ride and Pirates of the Caribbean hit crowd level ’10’s on their respective attraction level scales. Disneyland Park hit the maximum level on our scale Friday which is anything but typical. Thirteen attractions hit a crowd level 10 including Gadget’s Go Coaster at 24 minutes and Autopia at 35. A level ‘5’ at Disney California Adventure on a Tuesday in late April is within reason but a level ‘9’ at Disneyland Park is not. Especially for a day labelled as ‘Value’ for single day ticket guests. Ironically, some attractions during the ‘Regular’ season on the weekend had shorter lines. On Tuesday, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin averaged 40 minutes, a clear level ’10’ on our scale. 7 Disneyland Park8 WHAT WETHOUGHTWHAT WESAWANALYSIS Sunday was the only day last week where Disneyland Resort crowd levels matched what we see historically during the last week in April. Wait times were the highest of the week although there was virtually no dip in wait times during the week despite schools being in session and no holidays on the calendar. Disney California Adventure3 8 Disneyland Park3 After a remarkable April it looks like May crowd levels might be a little more reasonable although still above historical averages. May is typically a great time to visit the Disneyland Resort with the warm weather and moderate crowds but if 2016 continues to break records, it will be important to stick to the touring plan and re-optimize often to take advantage of live updates to wait times in the parks. To see Disneyland Resort Crowd predictions for the days of your vacation, check the Crowd Calendar. To get details about our predictions of future crowds or details about crowds in the past check out the Crowd Calendar and select “Jump to Date” on the left margin. Disney California Adventure8 WHAT WETHOUGHTWHAT WESAWANALYSIS Disneyland Park6 8 More extreme wait times at Disneyland Park on Thursday. Nine attractions hit a crowd level ’10’ when normally that number would be zero this time of year. Dumbo averaged 32 minutes as did Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. Mickey’s House averaged 34 minutes, Mr Toad’s Wild Ride 26 minutes, Peter Pan’s Flight 45 and Star Tours 44 minutes. (Click to view overall details for this day)Friday, April 29, 2016 9 Share This! How Crowded Was Disneyland Resort Last Week?Last week, Disneyland crowds during the week continue to be much higher than history would suggest for the last week in April. Since 2012, no park has hit a crowd level above a ‘6’ during the final week of April and most years the average crowd level is ‘4’. This year is different for some reason that remains a mystery. From our observations in the parks it feels like staffing may be contributing to the longer lines. Restaurants seem unprepared for the influx of lunchtime guests and rides seem to be operating at less than capacity. Staffing does not fully explain the increase in wait times during the week however. The ‘value’ pricing for tickets during the week may be a factor as well.Let’s look at how the crowd levels stacked up each day last week on the TouringPlans.com Disneyland Resort Crowd Report: 10 (Click to view overall details for this day)Saturday, April 30, 2016 In the previous five years no park has hit a crowd level above a ‘5’ on the last Monday in April. On the last Monday in April 2013, both Disneyland parks were a level ‘1’. This year, as has been the case with much of 2016, crowd levels are much higher. 6 9 Another crowd level ’10’ for Disneyland on Saturday thanks to average wait times like 48 minutes at Alice in Wonderland and 41 at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Disney California Adventure was busy as well with wait time averages like 30 minutes at California Screamin’ and 99 minutes at Radiator Springs Racers. Each of South Africa’s nine provinces has its own legislature, with 30 to 80 members elected according to proportional representation. The legislature in turn elects one of its members as premier, head of the provincial government.(Image: National Council of Provinces (NCOP))Brand South Africa reporterThe premier appoints an Executive Council (akin to the national Cabinet), consisting of members of the legislature, to administer the various departments of the provincial administration. These heads of department are known as members of the Executive Council, or MECs.The legislature makes provincial laws, and may adopt a Constitution for the province if two-thirds of its members agree. A provincial Constitution must be in line with the principles of the national Constitution.Provinces are allowed legislative and executive powers – alongside the powers of the national government – over a number of issues. These include gambling, education (excluding university education), the environment, healthcare, police services, vehicle licensing and welfare. The provinces can take responsibility for administration of these issues if they have the capacity.Provinces also have exclusive powers over a number of areas, including abattoirs, ambulance services, liquor licences, local museums, culture and recreation, and provincial roads and traffic.*Updated: 6 November 2015Source: South African Government Communication and Information SystemWould you like to use this article in your publication or on your website? The CVR from the 2018 Lion Air crash in Indonesia. Photo: CNN. It could be another four to five days before potentially crucial audio can be downloaded from the recently recovered Lion Air Flight 610 cockpit voice recorder, according to Indonesian officials. The second black box was found Monday by an Indonesian naval vessel and the device lifted on to the deck of the ship to cheers from divers and crew.It was buried under 26ft (8m) of mud and found inside the current search area, Navy spokesman Lt Col. Agung told CNN.The find comes two months after the Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft with 189 passengers and crew plunged into the sea shortly after leaving Jakarta on October 29.The hope is it will help determine how the crew reacted to problems stemming from a faulty sensor on the aircraft.Indonesian investigators told reporters at a press conference the recorder must be dried for up to four days and cleaned for another day before the audio could be downloaded. The so-called black boxes are designed to survive a crash and investigators are highly skilled at retrieving data but there is always an element of uncertainty.A spokesman for Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), Captain Nurcahyo Utomo, said investigators were not just interested in the conversation between the pilot and co-pilot.“We also want to investigate other sounds in the cockpit — that will help us find out what happened and help us investigate what caused the crash,” he said.Indonesian authorities had already recovered the flight data recorder and issued a preliminary report on the fatal crash in November.A final report is expected to take 12 months but authorities could issue an interim report or make recommendations if they uncover something that threatens wider aviation safety. The CVR is needed to give further insight into how the flight crew reacted to the sequence of events leading up to the crash and specifically to problems with the aircraft’s angle of attack sensors and stabilizer trim system.A crew the previous night experienced similar problems but landed safely after shutting down the automatic trim system according to procedures. However, the crew on the fatal flight appeared to fight the system until the end.US law firm Gardiner Koch Weisberg and Wrona, which has launched legal action against Boeing on behalf of Flight 610 co-pilot Harvino, said it was prepared to review new evidence after the discovery of the CVR.“We are pleased to know that the cockpit voice recorder has been found, and we look forward to reviewing this new evidence in order to seek justice for Harvino, his widow, and his three children,” said Tom Gardiner, attorney for Harvino’s estate. The firm’s lawsuit alleges that the aircraft’s sensors provided inaccurate information to the flight control system, improperly activating an anti-stall system that ultimately caused the aircraft to nose-dive into the ocean. It also claims Boeing failed to provide proper training to pilots regarding the 737 Max 8’s features.A new addition to the MAX was a flight control law known as the Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS).MCAS was software introduced to take into account differences between the 737 MAX and its predecessor — such as the MAX’s greater power and different center of gravity — and ensure the new planes react to an aerodynamic stall in a manner consistent with their older counterparts. The introduction of the software, which incrementally pushes down the nose in a stall, sparked controversy among pilots and some argued Boeing should have provided more information and training on the change.Others contended the problems experienced by the Lion Air pilots were covered by long-standing procedures to deactivate a runaway stabilizer trim regardless of the cause.READ The facts, the questions and the fiction of the Lion Air tragedy. There have also been claims of maintenance lapses. The Wall Street Journal over Christmas reported that investigators had made a preliminary conclusion that the improper calibration of an angle attack sensor had touched off the sequence of events that led to the crash.Lion Air has denied the maintenance claims.
Posted on 5th September 2017Digital Marketing FacebookshareTwittertweetGoogle+share With a constant stream of new capabilities in AdWords, and with the multitude of settings to manage, it can be daunting to stay on top of it all, especially when managing more than one account, or when your job entails more than just doing AdWords. Luckily, there are some simple ways to spot trouble early on and prevent an account disaster. I’ll share some of my favorites here.Use the change history in AdWords Alpha to spot a lack of activityOne sure sign that your account may be headed for trouble is that it’s undermanaged and not optimized on a regular basis. AdWords Alpha makes it much easier than the legacy interface to see how actively an account is managed. Unlike the change history in the old version of AdWords, AdWords Alpha highlights the overall number of changes right at the top, broken out by type. The new AdWords Change History view includes a table summarizing how many changes of each type were made in an account. When evaluating changes, be sure to look beyond the totals, and look at the number of changes by type. Bid changes are often automated, so there may be hundreds or thousands every month, whereas ad text changes, which are often done manually, will probably number much lower. If you use highly scalable PPC management tools like Optmyzr to update all your ads with new inventory or promotions, you should expect that even ad text changes could add up. So be sure to consider these numbers in context of the types of tools your account team has access to.Optmyzr’s tools for creating ads from data in a spreadsheet can dramatically increase how many changes advertisers are able to make in response to new promotions or changes in inventory.Spot a poorly implemented strategy by counting unimplemented opportunitiesAn account could still be headed for trouble when there are lots of changes but they are the wrong ones. A good way to gauge the quality of work is to look at the Opportunities section in AdWords to get a feel for how many tasks haven’t been done. Just be sure to always look at the opportunities that match your account strategy. The AdWords Opportunities tab shows the number of proposed changes and can be used to gauge how well an account is managed for a certain strategy. At Optmyzr, we have some customers who outsource their account management but who still look at our optimization suggestions to get a sense of how many opportunities exist for a strategy they like. For example, if they notice that there are hundreds of queries that our tools indicate are good keywords but haven’t been added, they can contact their account manager to discuss this and prevent it from having an adverse impact on account performance. The Optmyzr dashboard includes a brief overview of optimization opportunities and account insights advertisers can use to quickly understand how an account could be improved.A big benefit of using a tool like Optmyzr to do optimizations is that all the prebuilt optimization suggestions are customizable, and there’s even a rule engine to create custom, super-advanced optimizations. Rather than relying on cookie-cutter suggestions, proposed optimizations in Optmyzr match the account strategy, so it’s a more meaningful way to see if they are not implemented as well as they could be.Spot performance anomalies with a scriptEvaluating the amount and quality of work done are great first steps to spot trouble early. But what if it’s too late, the performance is already impacted, and something needs immediate attention? AdWords created a cool AdWords Script for this, the Anomaly Detector. It will send an email if clicks, impressions or cost are unusual compared to typical performance for the day of the week and hour of the day.If you need to run this across many accounts, Optmyzr’s Enhanced Scripts can be used to set it up for many accounts, each with their own sensitivity levels, while only having to maintain a single version of the code in AdWords. Optmyzr basically handles all the account-level details so that you don’t have to maintain different code for each account. If you’re interested in getting these types of anomaly alerts at a more granular level than the account (which is what Google’s code does), I wrote a variation of the script called the Granular Anomaly Detector. We created a few other scripts that can find issues as they happen, like the URL checker and Sitelink URL checker.Use advanced PPC dashboards for monitoringSo far, I’ve covered ways to find out about account issues that are fairly manual, or those that involve working with AdWords Scripts. If you want something easier and more streamlined, and you have a bit of budget to work with cutting-edge tools, Optmyzr’s newly redesigned MCC dashboard combines several types of alerts in one place. Unlike the AdWords MCC, Optmyzr’s dashboard also includes Bing Ads, and each metric shows a graph of recent trends and their directionality. The Optmyzr PPC Dashboard is fully customizable with unique metrics like Quality Score, custom notes between account managers, pre-emptive alerts, target-based alerts, and anomaly-based alerts.Because different accounts may have different targets, the dashboard is flexible, and you can set targets for any metric. For example, one account could have a CPA target, another an ROAS target, and yet another could have a target for cost and CTR. When the target KPI falls outside the expected range, an alert is shown. One thing we heard from advertisers is that they want to get a predictive alert before a KPI (key performance indicator) is missed. So, in addition to alerting advertisers after the KPI has been missed, we also alert them when the metric starts to head in the wrong direction. That way, advertisers can address any issues before they become significant enough to impact the target performance. Then we saw that advertisers who have alerts are frustrated when alarms keep triggering even after the underlying cause has been fixed. For example, say you’ve just gotten an alert that CPAs (costs per action) are trending up and you identified the responsible keyword and fixed it. A typical dashboard will continue to show the alert because it will take some time for the metrics to return to normal. That’s why Optmyzr’s alerts have snooze buttons — so that after you fix an issue, you can snooze the alert. ConclusionWhether you manage an AdWords account yourself or hired someone to do it for you, it’s useful to have a range of tools at your disposal to check on the quality of work to ensure continuous peak performance. You have many ways to monitor accounts, from native AdWords tools like Change History and the Opportunities tab to free AdWords Scripts and advanced dashboards, reports and custom optimizations from companies like Optmyzr. With the four tactics suggested in this post, I hope you’ll be able to become a better PPC advertiser without having to invest more time. From our sponsors: Four ways to spot AdWords account trouble early HomeDigital MarketingFour ways to spot AdWords account trouble early Four ways to spot AdWords account trouble earlyYou are here: Related postsLytics now integrates with Google Marketing Platform to enable customer data-informed campaigns14th December 2019The California Consumer Privacy Act goes live in a few short weeks — Are you ready?14th December 2019ML 2019121313th December 2019Global email benchmark report finds email isn’t dead – it’s essential13th December 20192019 benchmark report: brand vs. non-brand traffic in Google Shopping12th December 2019Keep your LinkedIn advertising strategy focused in 202012th December 2019

Tarun Ghosh was on a holiday at Mandarmani, a famous sea beach and tourist destination, with his family when an unfortunate incident occurred.Ghosh, an adventure enthusiast, in an attempt to make his trip memorable, enrolled his name for parasailing with a company named New Bengal Adventures. As soon as the parachute went into the air, the towing car came too close to an electric pillar due to the heavy tides. The parachute further went off track due to heavy rains and wind. The parachute got stuck in the pillar but the towing car didn’t stop. The pillar was uprooted and was dragged for a distance along with the Ghosh in the accident. Ghosh was rushed to the Contai district hospital where he was declared “brought dead”.The authorities claim that parasailing has been banned on the beaches long ago, but the said company was illegally carrying on with it at Mandarmani.”Parasailing by car on the beach is illegal. They have been stopped many times but they don’t pay any heed to that. They get full support of the local goons who get affiliated to the political party that comes to power. Today, due to heavy tide the car must have come too close to the pillar and the parachute got stuck on it. Even after that, the car didn’t stop, but rather accelerated which caused the death of that man. The man died due to the inexperienced driving.” said Laxminarayan Jana, the president of the local Gram Panchayat Samiti.advertisementPolice has initiated a probe against the company.”I have instructions to the SDPO to investigate the matter. We will inquire about these local adventure sports companies which are providing these services and whether they have any official permit for it. Facebook Twitter Google+LinkedInPinterestWhatsAppKINGSTON, Nov. 26 (JIS): Fifty projects have been approved since the October commencement of the Government’s national campaign to reduce the spread of the Chikungunya virus(Chick-V), across the island. The Approvals Sub-committee under the programme has approved 39 projects for Members of Parliament (MPs) and 11 for Parish Councils. This was disclosed at a Jamaica House Press Briefing today (November 26), at which an update was provided on the $500 million national health emergency vector control clean-up campaign. The project activities involve an islandwide clean-up of communities and an integrated vector control programme, specifically geared at reducing the breeding sites of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits Chik-V.Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, informed that Parish Councils and MPs have been active in their communities, leading the effort.“Jamaicans too are heeding the call to take personal responsibility for removing containers, and clearing areas in which water settles, and where mosquitoes can lay eggs and multiply,” she said. The Minister further informed that $350 million of the money allocated for the programme has been set aside for the national clean-up effort.“The remaining $150 million is being utilised by the Ministry of Health for Chick-V and Ebola preparation and related expenses,” Senator Falconer added.Under the national campaign, $2 million is available for each MP and $5 million for each Parish Council to carry out projects.Logistics Coordinator for the campaign, Colonel Daniel Pryce, explained that disbursement of funds is dependent on approval of a detailed work plan that is required to be submitted by the MPs and local authorities. He noted that the work plan would entail the proposed budget, as well as how the funds will be allocated.“It should also state the location of the area to be cleaned and each plan should specify the implementing agency,” he said. The money would then be disbursed to the implementing agency identified. In the meantime, Colonel Pryce said a number of communities in western Jamaica, the Kingston and Metropolitan region, as well as 27 communities in Portmore,St. Catherine, have been cleaned. He commended the various local authorities, specifically the Mayors of Falmouth, Trelawny; Montego Bay, St. James and the acting Mayor of Portmore for their efforts in ensuring that the projects were carried out smoothly. The national health emergency vector control clean-up campaign is being spearheaded by a team involving: the Ministry of Health; the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management; the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF); the Jamaica Emergency Employment Programme (JEEP) Secretariat; and the Ministry of Finance and Planning, under the Chairmanship of Senator Falconer.
